How does your experience make you qualified to represent the people?

I am not a career politician. I grew up farming and helped operate a family farm, where I learned the value of hard work, personal responsibility, and community. I also spent 24 years in the automotive industry, working alongside small business owners and hardworking families who are the backbone of Pueblo’s economy.

Those experiences taught me how policies affect people in their everyday lives. I’ve worked in the private sector, supported local businesses, and seen firsthand the challenges facing working families, farmers, and entrepreneurs. I bring a practical, common-sense perspective to public service and believe elected officials should listen first, work hard, and focus on delivering results for the people they represent.

What are your top policy priorities?

My top priority is creating economic opportunity while preserving what makes Pueblo special. We need to attract new jobs and industries that give our young people reasons to stay, build careers, and raise families here. At the same time, we must support the small businesses, family farms, and local industries that have shaped our community for generations.

I am committed to responsible economic development, workforce growth, infrastructure improvements, and protecting the natural beauty and agricultural heritage that make Pueblo unique. We can grow our economy without losing our identity, and I believe Pueblo’s best days are still ahead.

What is one issue you think is being overlooked in this race, and how would you address it?

One issue that doesn’t get enough attention is the growing division in our communities and our politics. Too often, people are encouraged to see every issue as black and white, with one side completely right and the other completely wrong. Real life is more complicated than that.

I believe the best solutions come from listening to a wide range of perspectives and being willing to work with people who may not agree on everything. While I have my own values and convictions, I know that no political party has a monopoly on good ideas. By bringing people together, encouraging respectful dialogue, and focusing on practical solutions instead of partisan talking points, we can find common ground and move Pueblo forward. The marketplace of ideas works best when everyone has a seat at the table and a voice in the conversation.
