How does your experience make you qualified to represent the people?

I have been involved in politics for nearly 10 years. I’ve had experience working at a polling center so I am well acquainted with how elections operate in Colorado. I have worked with individuals of all backgrounds and party affiliations and have spoken with a wide array of voters about what’s important to them. Formerly working in finance and accounting, I have an understanding of the organizational process of filing important documentation. Finally, as a small business owner, I am aware of the current process of registering and maintaining a business with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office.

What are your top policy priorities?

First, on the topic of elections: I want to strengthen our electoral integrity by phasing out the mail-in ballot system and return to in-person voting only. While mail-in voting makes it convenient to vote, there have been too many concerning security issues tied to it. I want all polling places to have rigorous security measures, including mandatory identification. Every Coloradan should feel secure at the ballot box, and that their vote truly counts. I also endorse alternative voting methods such as rank choice and approval voting. These methods would give Coloradans greater choice and more freedom at the ballot box.

Secondly, regarding business registration. I support a process that is cheaper and more straightforward when it comes to registering and maintaining a business with the Secretary of State’s office. I am not saying that the current process is horrendous, but it can certainly be improved. Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our economy, providing valuable jobs, products, and services; it should be as easy and as cheap as possible for them to make their dreams a reality.

What is one issue you think is being overlooked in this race, and how would you address it?

One issue that I think has been overlooked is our polling places’ accessibility for voters with disabilities. This is an issue that has been at the forefront of my campaign. I have spoken with voters who are visually impaired about their concerns of not feeling independent or secure when casting their ballots.

As Secretary of State, I will implement mandatory accessibility training for every poll worker and ensure standardized accessible voting equipment statewide, including audio ballots, tactile interfaces, and systems that allow voters to cast their ballot privately, without relying on another person. I will produce a public Accessible Voting Report: a real, transparent document that identifies where our system is failing and what we are going to do about it. Every Coloradan deserves to cast their ballot independently.
