One woman dead after RV fire in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) say one woman is dead after an RV fire Thursday morning.

On Jan 2. at 10:06 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to an RV fire at 5595 E Bijou St., just south of East Platte Avenue and North Powers Boulevard.

Upon entering the RV, they were met with heavy smoke and low visibility. Crews located a small fire in the vehicle, which CSFD said they extinguished in seconds before finding a woman inside.

Personnel removed her from the RV and rendered medical aid, but she was pronounced dead on scene.

At the time of publication, the woman has not been publicly identified.

CSFD said fire investigators are now working to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
