Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Hot Again – 6/12/2022

Overview:  We're tracking very warm air and limited chances for rain.

Today:  Partly cloudy and breezy at times during afternoon with a slight chance for brief showers or a little thunder, but most areas shouldn't expect much rain. Fire weather conditions are likely over western parts of our coverage area. High temperatures are expected to reach the 90s to lower 100s again for the southeastern plains, and 80s to near 90 for the mountains and high mountain valleys. The showers that can develop will at least provide some shade, and at times some temporarily cool wind gusts.

Tonight:  Any evening showers and thunderstorms will end and then mostly clear with low temperatures in the 50s and 60s for the plains and some 40s over the mountains and high mountain valleys.

Extended:  We’ll be hot and mostly dry on Monday with fire weather conditions likely over many areas. Slightly cooler air may arrive late Tuesday and Wednesday, but right now it appears that showers and thunderstorms associated with the cooler air may remain to our north and east. By Thursday or Friday our chances for at least scattered showers and thunderstorms may start to increase.
