Active week of weather ahead

CANONCITY

TODAY: Sunshine and scattered clouds are in the forecast for Monday. We will be dry through the first half of the day, then a few rain showers and snow showers move in following noon. Rain and snow stay over the mountains with thundershowers and some graupel showers remaining over I-25. Highs today will warm to the 40s, 50s and low 60s. We will also have some areas in the 70s over the plains.

TONIGHT: An isolated rain shower or two is likely over I-25 with some snow showers over Pikes Peak and the High Country. We could also see a snow shower or two over Teller County. Lows will be dropping to the 30s and 40s.

EXTENDED: Tuesday brings more widespread showers and storms with comfortable temps in the 50s and 60s. The morning will be dry but active weather moves in between noon and 3pm. Rain and snow is likely over the mountains with some thunderstorms along and east of I-25. Some strong or a low-end severe storm or two is possible over the Southeast corner of Colorado through that same timeframe. Wind and hail would be the primary threats of any storms that became strong. Minor accumulation (1-3”) is likely over Teller County through Tuesday night. We will see dry skies and warmer highs on Wednesday. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s. 50s are expected for our mountain cities.
