Spectacular Sunday Ahead

Today

Expect a really nice Sunday across Southern Colorado. Colorado Springs will climb to near 80 degrees with mostly sunny skies, while Pueblo and the lower elevations warm into the lower to mid 80s. Winds will turn out of the south and southeast through the day, and they may become a bit breezy at times, especially this afternoon.

All fall activities are a go today!

This Week

Monday is the transition day. We stay mild, but clouds increase, and rain chances begin to return, especially later in the day and into Monday night.

Tuesday through Thursday look like the most active days of the forecast. A Pacific storm system will pull moisture into Colorado, including moisture tied to the remnants of Hurricane Polo. That setup will bring better chances for showers and embedded thunderstorms across Southern Colorado, along with cooler temperatures. Wednesday appears to be the most consistently wet for the viewing area.

Heavy rain will become a concern, especially across parts of southern Colorado where repeated rounds of rain are possible. This will bring concerns for flash flooding. Storm track will be key, but areas along Hwy 50 from Pueblo east, and points south, look to see the greatest amount of rainfall.

By late Thursday and no later than Friday, the system begins to move out. Rain chances decrease, sunshine returns, and temperatures slowly rebound to seasonal averages.
