Remaining Hot With Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms

A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible across the area this afternoon, with more widely scattered storms across southeastern portions of our viewing area. Temperatures will remain above average, and a few triple-digit readings are possible across the Eastern Plains.

Temperatures will fall back only down into the low to mid 60s for most overnight, with light winds and increasing cloud cover.

The holiday weekend will begin on a cloudier note, but temperatures will still climb into the upper 80s and 90s. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through Labor Day, although a washout is not expected. Temperatures will begin to trend down slightly into the middle portion of next week.
