Heading into a wet weekend

Today: Temperatures will continue to be mild for Friday going into the weekend, however monsoonal moisture takes form in the evenings. Today scattered thunderstorms are crossing I-25 starting at 2 pm and continuing until 9 pm. The evening commute home around 5 pm will have periods of heavy rainfall.

A Flash Flood Watch is in place over the Aspen Acres burn scar area from 12 pm until 8 pm.

High temperature for Colorado Springs will be 85 degrees with the southeastern plains in the low 90s.

Weekend: More evening storms and showers are firing up. For El Paso County thunderstorms begin right around 2 pm for Saturday and Sunday. Some showers could last until 10 pm.

The Flood Watch over the burn scar will likely be extended.
