Best temperatures of the week comes with a catch

Today: Tuesday was the best day to get outside temperature wise, but unfortunately now is coming with thick wildfire smoke. Waking up this morning the worst air quality is over Fremont and Custer Counties. Most surrounding areas have moderate air quality. There is enough smoke to prompt Air Quality Alerts for Pueblo, El Paso, Fremont, Custer Counties and many other areas.

Waking up this morning there's a strong breeze bringing mainly 20 mph gusts. Temperatures are getting into the 80s today with a few evening showers and thunderstorms. The Aspen Acres burn scar will get a small shower from 2-3 pm. Colorado Springs will get showers and a thunderstorms from 3-4 pm, this passing storm will mainly impact the northern neighborhoods.

Tomorrow: Another mild day but temperatures are increasing. Colorado Springs jumps up to the high 80s with Pueblo hitting the low 90s.

Extended: High temperatures are back in the 90s for the rest of the week going into the weekend as the heat dome sits in place.
