Heavy Rain and Flooding Potential Across the Southeast Plains

Although most of the day will remain dry, chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase into the overnight hours, focused mainly across the southern Sangre and into the southeastern Plains. A flooding threat could become elevated, with multiple waves of heavy rain across the area. Temperatures overnight will fall back into the mid 50s to low 60s, with 40s possible in the San Luis Valley.

Temperatures on Thursday will feel more seasonal, with highs in the 80s for most. Expect plenty of sunshine, although an isolated shower can't be ruled out across the southeastern Plains.

High temperatures will climb to well above-average again on Friday, before we see a strong upper-level system to the west, bringing temperatures back down and returning slight chances for rain to the forecast.
