Monsoonal Moisture Keeps Rain Chances in the Forecast

Thunderstorm chances will persist over the next few afternoons as moisture remains in place, with temperatures staying quite warm for early September. A passing cold front on Tuesday will help trigger thunderstorm development, and heavier rain and stronger thunderstorms will be possible. Chances for rain will continue through the week, with better chances located across the Eastern Plains.

Expect overnight lows in the low to mid 60s across the I-25 corridor. Lows across the Eastern Plains may only drop into the upper 60s. Tuesday's highs will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s across Colorado Springs and Pueblo, with mid-90s expected to the east.

A pattern change by later this weekend may bring more widespread precipitation chances and cooler temperatures.
