Tracking dangerously hot temps!

TODAY: We're tracking even hotter temperatures than yesterday with highs in the high 90s in Colorado Springs and triple digits in Pueblo and across the Plains. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms in the High Country starting in the afternoon, with a few spillover showers and storms along I-25 this evening. Some smoke from out-of-state fires lingers, extending air quality alerts for the mountains and the Denver area. The NWS has upgraded Fire Weather Watches to Red Flag Warnings for Fremont County and Pueblo County due to the prolonged (mostly) dry period and slightly gustier winds than yesterday with afternoon and evening gusts up to 30 MPH.

TOMORROW: The hot and mostly dry conditions continue Saturday with highs in the upper 90s in Colorado Springs and triple digits in Pueblo.

EXTENDED: Extreme heat sticks around with similar temps through Monday. Monsoonal moisture makes a return with increasing precipitation chances each day next week. Temperatures gradually cool to the high 80s in Colorado Springs and low 90s in Pueblo by Thursday.
