Tracking extreme heat, incoming storms

TODAY: It could be the hottest day of the year so far for many. We're tracking highs in the high 90s in Colorado Springs and triple digits in Pueblo. PM storms mainly stay out toward the mountains.

TOMORROW: Temps drop several degrees as storms become more widespread. Highs cool to the low 90s in Colorado Springs and high 90s in Pueblo. The best chance for shower and thunderstorms across the Pikes Peak Region comes after 6:00 p.m.

EXTENDED: The wetter weather pattern sticks around for most of the work week into the weekend. Temps stay similar to Tuesday through this period, in the high 80s/low 90s in the Springs and mid to high 90s in Pueblo.
