Heat records broken in both Colorado Springs and Pueblo

KRDO

SOUTHERN COLORADO, Colo. (KRDO) -- We all know it was a hot one here in southern Colorado, and temperatures on this Wednesday proved it. The National Weather Service in Pueblo confirms that the old record high temperature of 97 degrees on this day in Colorado Springs was broken today when the official temperature hit 99 degrees late afternoon. The National Weather Service also confirms that Pueblo also broke its old record of 103 degrees when the thermometer climbed to 106 this afternoon.

The good news is that a major cooldown will arrive on Thursday as a cold front knocks high temperatures down into the 80s.
