Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Strong Storms Farther East – 5/23/2021

Overview:  We’re tracking a stretch of warmer, drier weather until later in the week.

Today:  Early clouds and showers will give way to a partly cloudy sky. We’ll be windy at times this afternoon with high temperatures in the 70s and 80s for most areas while our local mountain communities remain mainly in the 60s. Low-level moisture could again support some strong thunderstorms east of the I-25 corridor this afternoon, mainly north of the Arkansas River or very near the Colorado/Kansas state line, but elsewhere we expect to remain dry.

Tonight:  Mostly clear and cool with low temperatures in the 30s and 40s for most areas.

Extended:  Most of the week looks warm, breezy, and dry with much less chance for rain. We’ll watch for the possibility that a weak cold front will bring some low-level moisture back over parts of eastern Colorado later in the week and possibly allow for isolated thunderstorms to develop over a few areas.
