Sunny and mild conditions build in as big changes loom

High pressure has built in across our area, keeping our skies sunny and temperatures quite warm for late October. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight, and lows will drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s for most. Patchy fog will again be a possibility, with the favored areas being along the Arkansas River.

Clouds will increase somewhat for Wednesday as a surface front nears our area; however, precipitation chances look to be non-existent. Temperatures will remain warm, with upper 60s across the I-25 and mid 70s on the eastern Plains.

Temperatures will be knocked back a few degrees by Thursday, with additional cloud cover. Some models take a swath of rain across the I-25 and eastern Plains by Friday, while other data suggest this system will remain farther east, keeping our area dry through the rest of the week. Regardless, Halloween looks to be mild and mostly dry. A much more significant change in our pattern could arrive Sunday, with the potential to bring much colder air and higher precipitation chances into early next week.
