Rain winding down, skies clearing into the weekend

The impactful storm system that gave some residents over 4" of rainfall is moving away, and skies are beginning to clear in its wake. Mostly clear skies overnight will allow temperatures to drop into the 40s for most by Friday morning. Temperatures in the San Luis Valley will drop into the low to mid 30s, and a Frost Advisory has been issued here. Fog may also develop overnight, especially for the I-25 corridor.

Fog with reduced visibility is possible by daybreak tomorrow and could affect the morning commute. By the afternoon, sunshine should prevail. High temperatures will reach the upper 60s and low 70s, as fog could keep temperatures stunted through the morning hours.

High pressure will be mostly in control of the forecast going forward. Expect plenty of sunshine through the weekend and into next week. Saturday will be the warmest of the weekend days, with afternoon highs expected to reach the upper 70s and lower 80s. Temperatures will cool off slightly for Sunday as a cold front passes through, but we'll feel a rebound to above-average temperatures for much of next week. Precipitation chances will generally be limited, although a few showers will be possible by Wednesday.
