Temperatures going down, rain chances going up

Monday will be the warmest day in the forecast, as a cold front is expected to move across the area during the overnight hours.

There will be a few isolated showers and thunderstorms through the evening, with overnight lows into the 50s and low 60s for most. An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible across our far Eastern Plains.

With the cold front passage, Tuesday will be much cooler. High temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s areawide. There will again be chances for isolated showers and thunderstorms, with highest odds in the mountains.

Increasing monsoonal moisture will increase chances for widespread showers and thunderstorms by Wednesday, with heavier rain a possibility. Flash flooding chances will increase over burn scars.

Temperatures will reach the 70s and 80s each afternoon through the week, with chances for precipitation continuing into the weekend.
