Heating up for the weekend

Today: Another hot and dry day is in store for the eastern plains. Colorado Springs will likely get up to 90 degrees with Pueblo a few degrees warmer. Monsoonal moisture continues to make its way over the high country primarily the southwest bringing some small spotty thunderstorms and showers through the greater part of the evening. Wind gusts over the Aspen Acres fire are coming from the east and heading west bringing any lingering smoke over the fire area to the high country.

Weekend: The ridge of high pressure that's hanging out over Colorado builds in for Saturday and Sunday bringing some dangerously hot temperatures with it. Colorado Springs could get up to 95 with Pueblo in the high-90s.
