Monsoonal Moisture provides showers for the high country; eastern CO stays dry

Today: Monsoonal moisture is causing some mountain showers and thunderstorms, with the most severe weather affecting the southwest areas over the Ferris Fire. Any precipitation-producing clouds are staying west of I-25.

The "Aspen Acres" fire will still have dry and hot conditions with 20-25 mph gusts moving from the east to the west, which is why the haze coming from the fire is hanging over the western areas. Colorado Springs has a good chance of being in the low 90s again today, with Pueblo in the mid-90s.

Tomorrow: Once again, the best time to get outside will be the morning. We wake up to temperatures in the 60s for Colorado Springs, with 64 degrees by 7 a.m. By 9 a.m., we will be back in the 70s, and temperatures will continue to quickly escalate from there, with Colorado Springs having a high of 89 degrees and 94 for Pueblo. Breezier conditions continue, especially after 3 p.m., with 20 mph winds and gusts up to 30 mph. The winds will continue to push the smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire to the west. From 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., mountain showers and storms bubble up, providing more rain for the Ferris and Gold Mountain Fires that are in the southwest location of Colorado.
