High fire danger and hazy conditions for the week

TODAY: An upper-level trough of low pressure is hovering over the northern Rocky Mountains. Although Southern Colorado is under high pressure and hot temperatures, that low is causing gusty conditions. Wind gusts are around 20-30 mph with 40 mph gusts at times. Add in the dry conditions, and we have high fire danger and RED FLAG WARNINGS until 10 pm. Colorado Springs is staying in the low 90s, with Pueblo getting up to 98.

OF NOTE: Two new large fires have broken out across western Colorado/Eastern Utah. We are expecting heavy smoke to develop later today across the I-70 corridor and north to Denver.

TOMORROW: It's likely that we will be waking up to some more haze for your Monday morning. RED FALG WARNINGS continue over many areas along I-25 and the western regions from 11 am until 10 pm. Windy conditions also linger. Hot and dry conditions seem to be sticking around for the rest of the work week.
