The Week Ahead

Tonight: Winds were again breezy for most locations in central/southern Colorado today as gusts hit 40mph in Colorado Springs. Calming conditions overnight with mostly clear skies and low temperatures to 32 degrees in Colorado Springs and similar in Pueblo.

Extended: A dominant ridge of high pressure will remain in place for Colorado through much of the work week ahead. Daily sunshine and high temperatures pushing 5-10 degrees above average, into the high 60s in Colorado Springs and low 70s along the HWY 50 corridor. Wednesday/Thursday wind gusts will reach into the 30mph range, making for near critical fire weather ahead of a strong cold front forecast to cross over Colorado Friday night. Specifics on the front are unclear due to model discrepancy, but significantly cooler temperatures and rain/snow chances are likely for next weekend. We'll of course relay updates as we approach the event.
