10/19/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Fire weather warnings in the area expire at 8pm as temperatures will cool off helping relative humidity levels return to a safe range. Wind gusts calming down as well during the overnight hours, low temperature of 39 in Colorado Springs.

Sunday: Wind. Wind. And more wind! Wind gusts by 6am should be ranging between 20-30mph across the I-25 corridor and will increase throughout the day. By early afternoon I expect most locations in SE Colorado to be dealing with 50+mph gusts. The Biggest concern will be the effect of the wind on the Decker fire, and any other fires that develop. Rapid and erratic growth is possible, as the National Weather Service has issued Fire weather warnings to begin at 11am. Plenty of sunshine during the daytime with temperatures slightly cooling in El Paso County, high of 51 degrees. Combine that with the wind, looking at a blustery day ahead.
