COLD AIR AHEAD 10-7-19

TONIGHT: Partly clear with temps in the 30’s and 40’s

TUESDAY: Warm and dry with temps in the 70’s and some low 80’s for the Eastern Plains.

EXTENDED: Elevated fire danger is in place for much of southern Colorado on Wednesday as warm, dry and windy conditions set up ahead of an approaching cold front set to sweep the station on Thursday dropping temps 30-40° by Thursday evening. Expect highs to struggle to make it out of the 30’s and 40’s on Thursday with a hard freeze expected Thursday night. Some snow is possible with this next system but mainly favoring higher terrain areas. Lighter sow amounts possible for lower elevations. Details subject to change as confidence in forecast increase over the next 24 hours.
