Multiple crashes near Wigwam affect southbound and northbound I-25 traffic
PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Multiple crashes along northbound and southbound I-25 caused traffic delays just south of Wigwam.
At 6:08 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation reported a crash between Exit 119 and Exit 116. That crash closed the left shoulder while crews worked. According to Colorado State Patrol, a driver hit a guardrail at mile marker 116.
That crash was cleared at 7:45 p.m.
Then, at 7:23 p.m., CDOT announced a crash had forced all northbound lanes of I-25 closed between Exit 116: County Line Road and Exit 119: Rancho Colorado Blvd. This is just nine miles north of Pueblo West.
According to CSP, this incident involved multiple vehicles and was a hit-and-run crash. Troopers were searching for a white vehicle that reportedly fled the scene.
CSP told KRDO no injuries were immediately reported in that crash, only reports of property damage.
By 8:45 p.m., CDOT said the right shoulder was closed. At 9:05 p.m., CDOT announced the interstate had reopened.
