Denver Broncos Team Update

Things were not looking good for the Broncos to begin the season with the team starting 0-3 and losing a number of key players to injury, including veteran pass-rusher Von Miller. But Denver was able to turn its season around in a big way and now finds itself as a legitimate contender for a Wild Card playoff spot.

The Broncos have relied on a bend-but-don’t-break defense throughout their turnaround. Though the Denver defense has been average, at best, all year in terms of both total and scoring defense, the Broncos seem to buckle down when it matters most and are among the league’s best in red zone touchdown percentage and opponents third-down percentage. This has helped keep games close and opposing offenses off the field.

On the other side of the ball, the Denver offense has done just enough this season. While far from elite, the Broncos have been able to lean on a reliable ground game, which has generated a somewhat inconsistent but mostly steady performance from young quarterback Drew Lock. It’s not a particularly high-powered offense, but it’s been enough to get the job done all year, especially with the Denver defense consistently keeping games within reach.

After a poor start to the season, the Broncos have at times looked like a complete team this year, and that has them still alive in the playoff hunt in the latter half of the season.

Las Vegas Raiders Team Preview

At the midway point in the NFL season, Las Vegas finds itself firmly in the Wild Card race.

The Raiders have been one of the NFL’s most inconsistent teams so far this season, especially on the offensive side of the ball. At times, Las Vegas looks like it has one of the most potent offenses in the NFL, like when it dropped 40 points on the road against division-leading Chiefs earlier this season. But other times, it looks anemic, like when it managed just 16 points – 10 of which came in the fourth quarter – against the Cleveland Browns.

On the other side of the ball, the defense has been consistent, but not particularly good. The Raiders rank in the bottom third in the league in scoring defense and have surrendered more than 30 points more often than not through its first eight games, including 45 points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Las Vegas offense has proven it can compete with anybody on a good day, but inconsistency on that side of the ball combined with a porous defense has been the downfall for this team so far this season, and the Raiders will have to turn that around in order to make a playoff run.

Broncos at Raiders Week 10 Betting Odds Prediction

Though the Raiders have the offensive firepower to score points on anybody, the Broncos have been the more consistent team so far this season, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. The Denver defense will keep this game close with some key stops when it matters and the offense will do just enough against a Raider defense that’s struggled against almost everybody this year. Take the points with the underdog in what should be a competitive AFC West affair.

Pick: Denver +4
