Pueblo County urges fire-affected residents to verify voter registration before ballots are mailed

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo County is reminding those affected by the Aspen Acre Fire to update voter registration as the November general election quickly approaches.

Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Candance Rivera and election staff say they recognize those affected by the fire are facing many challenges, and that voter registration may not be a top priority.

However, the county is reminding individuals that the general election is on Nov. 3 and that ballots will be mailed out on Oct. 5.

The county advises individuals to verify their voter registration information. Officials recommend that those in temporary housing include their location in their mailing address to ensure their ballot is sent without interruption.

Voter registration can be updated prior to Oct. 5 by visiting the Election Office at 201 W. 8th Street, 7th Floor, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or click here to update online.
