Daily storm chances continue with Flash Flooding Risk for the ‘Aspen Acres’ fire burn area

We do have a Flash Flood Watch in effect through 8 P.M. tonight for the Aspen Acres Burn Area which does cover parts of Pueblo, Custer and Fremont Counties. We will have slow moving thunderstorms possible over that area which could lead to Flash Flooding and debris flows. Most other areas here in Southern Colorado have a chance for showers and storms through the early evening hours, with breezy conditions. Overnight lows will fall into the mid to upper 50s.

Thursday will bring us another chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. That should mainly happen between the hours of 1 P.M and 8 P.M. We will see slightly cooler temperatures in the mid to upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. We do have another Flash Flood Watch for the Aspen Acres Burn Area once again from noon through 8 P.M. We will have to watch for the possibility of severe weather out on the Eastern Plains. The greatest risk with the severe storms that do for will be large hail, and strong damaging winds.

Showers and thunderstorms will persist on Friday in the afternoon and evening hours. It will be on the breezy side with high in the mid to upper 80s.

Sunny skies, along with warm and drier conditions return for the weekend. It will be hot with temperatures in the lower 90s for the Pikes Peak Region and triple digit heat out on the Eastern Plains.

Monday and Tuesday will remain hot and dry, with highs in the lower 90s.
