Severe storms possible out on the Eastern Plains

Tonight, we will see mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms. We could potentially see some severe storms out on the Eastern Plains. The biggest threats with those severe storms that do fire up will be large hail and strong, damaging winds. Overnight lows will fall into the mid to upper 50s.

Friday will bring us mostly cloudy skies with some smoky air coming in from the wildfires burning out in Utah. We do have just a slight risk for showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe out on the Eastern Plains. High temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s.

Saturday and Sunday will bring dry and warmer conditions. We will see mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 90s for the Pikes Peak Region, and even warmer temperatures out toward the Eastern Plains, where highs could climb to near 100 degrees. We will also see a High Fire Danger for a good part of the foothills and the High Country.

The dry conditions will continue for the beginning and right through Wednesday. It will be dry and warm with highs in the low to mid 90s.
