One man injured in shooting involving Colorado Springs Police officer

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- An investigation is underway following a shooting involving an officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

According to CSPD, the shooting happened in the 1000 block of N. Foote Ave., near Uintah and Hancock.

CSPD said officers were called to a domestic violence incident at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The suspect was found hiding inside the home.

According to police, the suspect refused to comply with verbal commands. A taser was used, though CSPD said it ultimately failed.

CSPD said at least one officer shot fired at least one round, hitting the man. Officers provided the man aid before he was taken to a hospital.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the shooting per policy.
