Woman dies after wrong-way driver hits her on I-25

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A woman is dead after a man crashed into her while driving the wrong way on I-25.

Sunday, Colorado State Patrol received a call for a crash on I-25 near milepost 149, just after midnight.

According to state patrol, a 23-year-old man drove a 2015 Chrysler 300 northbound in the southbound lanes on I-25.

Then, the 2015 Chrysler 300 hit a 2020 Hyundai Kona head-on.

State patrol said the driver of the 2020 Hyundai Kona was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

The driver of the 2015 Chrysler 300 sustained serious injuries, according to state patrol.

State patrol said that alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.
