Palmer Park Boulevard closed for investigation after possible shooting
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Palmer Park Boulevard from Academy Boulevard to Potter Drive is currently closed to traffic as police investigate a potential shooting in the area.
Colorado Springs Police say around 12:25 a.m. on Sunday July 3, patrol officers responded to the 3900 block of Palmer Park Boulevard for a reported disturbance, possibly involving an person with a gun.
When officers arrived on scene, they were told a potential shooting occurred, and a man who was south of the location was possibly hurt.
Shortly after receiving that information, CSPD officers found the man suffering from a serious injury.
The victim was taken to a local area hospital for advanced medical care and is currently in critical condition.
Detectives with the Violent Crimes Section Homicide/Assault Unit are taking over the ongoing investigation.
Areas both north and south of Palmer Park Blvd. currently have a police presence, and will be closed to pedestrian traffic for the next several hours.
Police say an update will be sent when the roadway is reopened.
