Pueblo Police use drones to find missing man

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man that went missing from a senior living facility was found alive after the Pueblo Police Department used drones to survey the area.

On Wednesday, September 15, a man dependent on medication walked away from Bonaventure of Pueblo and was last seen at 10 p.m.

Thursday, police were alerted that he had gone missing. The Pueblo Police Department's Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) Unit was dispatched along with officers on the ground to search for the man.

Police say drones soon found the man lying in a nearby field. According to officers, the man was alive but unable to walk. He was taken to a local hospital.

The Pueblo Police Department said:

Officers, dispatchers and drone operators did a great job in locating the male. They worked quickly and efficiently, and the male is now safe. The use of the drone proved to be invaluable, as the male was approximately 300 yards from the road in thick vegetation.
