Fort Carson hosts Hiring Our Heroes Career Summit

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Fort Carson and the U.S. National Chamber of Commerce Foundation hosted a Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Career Summit.

Launched in 2011, HOH connects the military community with American businesses. According to the organization, more than 617,000 veterans and military spouses found employment through HOH events and programs.

HOH's mission statement is:

We connect the military community with civilian companies to create economic opportunity and a strong and diversified workforce.

Hiring Our Heroe's Mission

Thursday, 90 employers from across the country were at the Elkhorn Conference Center. The event began with professional development training at McMahon Theater between 8 a.m. and noon. Following the training, the career fair lasted between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

More than 250 service members, family members, veterans, and civilians signed up to participate in the career summit.
