Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine available for anyone 12 and older at UCHealth in Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- It didn't take long for vaccine clinics to react to the FDA's approval of a coronavirus vaccine for children; UCHealth in Colorado says it's now offering the Pfizer vaccine for anyone aged 12 or older.

UCHealth made the announcement on Wednesday. The CDC has approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for anyone aged 12 or older, and clinical trials for the vaccine "have shown 100% efficacy for [the 12-15] age group."

Parental consent is required for vaccines in children 12-17. Children receiving their first dose at a UCHealth clinic should be accompanied by a parent or guardian or have a guardian sign a vaccine consent form for minors.

UCHealth says even if your child has already had COVID-19, it's important to get the vaccine since it's not clear how long immunity lasts after contracting the virus.
