1 injured in natural gas fire near northeast Colorado Springs home
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Fire Department was called to a home in the northeast side of town Monday afternoon for a reported natural gas fire.
CSFD posted a tweet about the fire at 3980 BarrelWood Court. People nearby should stay clear from the area as CSFD Hazardous Materials Team and Colorado Springs Utilities work to secure the scene.
Video posted by the fire department showed flames spewing up from a hole near the driveway of a home. Crew then dug a secondary hole to cut off the gas supply, according to Bart Bedsole, who arrived on scene minutes after the fire was first called out.
Police tell KRDO at least one person was seriously injured.
A woman who lives at the home where the gas line fire broke says a crew was out digging a hole to repair a POWER problem when they hit the line. An officer at the scene told me at least one man suffered serious injuries. pic.twitter.com/hG6vdCHJzx
