Fires in southern Colorado, New Mexico creating haze in the Front Range

Air Now Fire and Smoke Map

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — People all along the Front Range are noticing smoke in the air Wednesday. The smoke is being blown over from the East Canyon Fire and the Loading Pen Fire in Montezuma County.

There are also fires burning in New Mexico and Arizona that are contributing to the haze in the air.

Colorado Springs Fire officials want to remind people to only call 911 when they see smoke and flames on days like these.
