Pueblo Police: Hit-and-run involving pedestrian under investigation

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian Sunday morning is under investigation. A woman was taken to a hospital with leg injuries, but police believe they're non-life threatening.

Pueblo Police says the crash happened just before 6 a.m. near Thatcher Avenue and North Pueblo Boulevard near the Pueblo Zoo.

Police say a woman was walking on the north side of Thatcher when a vehicle swerved and hit her wheelbarrow, which then hit her. The woman was knocked to the ground and the driver took off.

A witness described the vehicle that her as a gray truck or SUV. A piece of the driver's front panel and windshield wiper fluid container were left behind.

The woman suffered leg injuries and was taken to the hospital.
