Colorado Springs groups surprise neighbors with goodie bags of beer, wine

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Members of two Facebook groups, the 719 Wine Fairies and the 719 Beer Gnomes, are spreading cheer by delivering goodie bags of wine, beer and candy treats to neighbors around Colorado Springs and Pueblo. The members call their deliveries "sprinkles" and "dustings," for the 719 Wine Fairies and 719 Beer Gnomes respectively.

The groups' founder and creator, Hayley Brown, says, "It just brings so much joy to my heart passing on kindness and smiles and joy and everything, with a little bit of wine and beer." Brown started 719 Wine Fairies, a women's only group on May 5. It quickly amassed over 7,000 group-members. 719 Beer Gnomes was created on May 14, and includes over 800 members, both male and female.

The groups deliver a stranger a little surprise to make their day.

One of the admins, Cindy Lamberty, says, "People are sprinkling other people with a basket with wine and some goodies, snacks, and plants for different people just to surprise them and make their day a little happier with all this going on it's a really awesome group lots of wonderfully nice people, lots of smiles and laughs."
