Colorado Springs Police find 2 runaways during traffic stop, arrest man for sexual assault on a child

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police in Colorado Springs turned a simple traffic stop into a rescue of two runaway girls and the arrest of a 24-year-old man for sexual assault on a child.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the traffic stop happened around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday near 3800 N. Nevada Ave.

Inside the car, police found two runaway juveniles being driven by Nicholas Wright, 24. Detectives with the Metro Vice Unit talked to the girls and one of them said Wright had sexual contact with her over the past few days.

Wright was arrested; we're still waiting on a mugshot.
