Colorado State Trooper fatally shoots suspect in Mesa County
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- An officer-involved shooting is under investigation after a trooper shot and killed a suspect Saturday morning in Mesa County.
The shooting happened just after 9 a.m. on Highway 50 and 29 Road and Mesa County, according to a release from CSP. The trooper wasn't injured and the single suspect died at the scene.
The area is closed and will remain closed for an 'extended period' to allow an investigation by the 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team, said CSP. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
