Pueblo police find dead woman inside abandoned home after fire

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo police are investigating what led to the death of a woman who was found inside an abandoned building that caught fire early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters and police responded to the house near 1200 Catalpa Street around 2 a.m. and crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

After the flames were doused, a deceased woman was found inside. She hasn't been identified yet.

Police believe this could be the result of foul play, so they're investigating the incident as a suspicious fire and death. It's not yet clear, though, if this is a homicide.
