PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A new initiative called "Supporting Pueblo" opened Sunday for business owners, aimed at helping them stay afloat during the coronavirus pandemic. It's an online marketplace that will allow businesses to sell and advertise from a virtual storefront.

“The ‘Supporting Pueblo’ drive is a huge step in establishing the infrastructure needed for our small businesses in Pueblo. This initiative and collaboration will allow businesses to continue to operate and facilitate the flow of dollars in our economy during COVID-19,” said Pueblo County Commissioner Garrison Ortiz in a release Sunday from Pueblo County officials.

Business owners can sign up at www.supportingpueblo.com/sell and click on the “sign me up” button. Once they fill out the form, organizers will create an online storefront, according to the release.

The front page of the website reads, "Sell your products online and get them in front of local residents without the technical hassle of managing your own online shop, shipping or delivery. During the COVID-19 pandemic, sellers receive 100% commission on all sales. Anyone with a product or service to sell in Pueblo, CO is invited to join the platform."

The marketplace will officially launch for customers Thursday, April 23. Customers can go to www.supportingpueblo.com and buy from their favorite local shops and restaurants, said the release.
