COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Police have one person in custody who they believe is responsible for a crash involving multiple vehicles Saturday night.

The call for the crash came in around 9:45 p.m., sending police to N. Academy Blvd and N. Carefree Circle. At the scene, officers learned a pickup truck had been traveling southbound when the driver lost control and crashed into other vehicles on the roadway. Police say multiple other vehicles were involved, but it's unclear exactly how many.

One person in the truck was taken to a hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police say.

The drive of the pickup truck was identified as 24-year-old Jesse Depascal. Depascal is now facing charges for DUI and vehicular assault.

The crash closed southbound Academy for about five hours, reopening just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
