Motorcyclist seriously injured in Fountain crash

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police tell us a man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after his motorcycle crashed Friday evening on Highway 16.

The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. when the driver lost control as he was going westbound on Highway 16, police say. The vehicle struck a guard rail and driver was thrown from the motorcycle.

The crash caused closures for several hours along westbound Highway 16 between Highway 85 and Brandley drive.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say they don't know yet if speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
