LA JUNTA, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man is in the hospital with a serious injury after a vehicle went off the side of a roadway and rolled onto its roof.

The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. Saturday when the driver of a Ford F-150 failed to navigate a curve in the roadway, says Colorado State Patrol. The driver, 23-year-old Emily Brent, was traveling northbound on Otero County Road 25 and went off the right side of the road. The vehicle hit an embankment, went airborne and rolled one half times, says CSP.

Brent was uninjured in the crash, but the passenger, 27-year-old Joseph Kostelac, sustained a serious injury.

Alcohol is currently being investigated as a contributing factor to the crash, says CSP.
