Pueblo police arrest driver in vehicular assault

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo police say they've arrested the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left a 22-year-old man seriously injured Wednesday afternoon.

According to the department, Dennis Gonzales, 23, was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder and other felony warrants.

Gonzales is the suspect in the hit-and-run that happened around 12:30 p.m. at West 27th Street near Morris Ave., according to Pueblo PD.

The victim was hit by a pickup truck and thrown into a nearby yard on W. 27th Street. He hasn't been identified, but police said his injuries were life-threatening.

Police say Gonzales was already on the list of Safe Streets Wanted Criminals at the time of his arrest.
