WASHINGTON (KRDO) -- President Donald Trump may be making more visits to the Centennial State next year in an effort to support Republican Sen. Cory Gardner.

Trump made the remark Thursday during a presentation from the White House about child care and paid leave for working families in America. One of the guest speakers invited Trump to visit Little Imaginations, a child care center in Fruita.

In response, Trump chuckled with the audience and said, "We'll be in Colorado a lot, actually."

The president hasn't had a campaign rally for the 2020 election in Colorado yet, but he's expected to show support for Gardner, who's facing intense opposition as the Democratic National Committee looks to flip his seat.

"We have a great senator in Colorado, we have to get him extended," Trump added. "I'll be there a lot."
