Wildfire burning 12 miles southwest of Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KRDO) — Firefighters are battling a new fire called the Forest Road Fire in Douglas County.

It's burning off of South Rampart Range Road, 12 miles southwest of Castle Rock, near Rock Springs Campground. The fire was reported at 12:37 p.m. Saturday.

Two helicopters and multiple agencies are responding to the 0.41 acre fire, according to officials with the Pike and San Isabel National Forests Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands.
