SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. -- An unattended skier death at Keystone Resort Monday is now under investigation by the Summit County Sheriff's Office.

Just before noon, the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a 65-year-old male skier who was found unconscious and not breathing on a ski run.

The man was transported to Keystone Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. There was no visible sign of trauma, said the Sheriff's Office in a release Monday afternoon.

The name of the skier will not be released until his next of kin is notified, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Summit County Coroner has assumed responsibility for the investigation into his cause of death.
